Truly speaking, students in UK have a lighter academic year than brazilians students. I just got back from my Easter Break, which last 3 weeks. Although I wasn’t full-time on my lazy mode, I spent a few days in one of the most peculiar sceneries of Great Britain: Scotland. We had this plan of 3, 4 days of trip, from London to Inverness and then to Isle of Skye.We bought ticket from a company named Megabus, for budget people =PInverness is a convenient city if you want to go to Loch Ness. Other choice is Fort August, which is located in the south part of the Loch. The Loch is not so wide but is surely long. Is big enough to keep the most part of fresh water from Scotland. Its dark and freezing water date from Ice Age. We didn’t get to see Nessie, though.
From Inverness we headed to Isle of Skye, and there I mad a note to self to hire a car next time visiting Skye. The island is beautiful, but the public transportation sucks. They have like 3 bus in the morning and they only come back to operate in the end of the day and doesn’t operate at night at all.
The capital of Isle of Skye is Portree. I got a Hostel quite far from there, the Skywalker Backpackers Hostel, which is great: cozy, nice bedrooms, tidy kitchen and the couple who run it, it’s so friendly…they even got some medicine for my sore throat =)
As I was saying, Public transportation in Skye sucks, so, either you have a car or be prepared for hitchhiking. It is quite a common thing there, quite safe and we didn’t had any problem with it. Actually it’s kinda cool since you get to know more the local people.
Portree is the place to stay if you wont have a car. There you can rent bicycles, book horse rides and is easier to get the buses to spot your favorite places.
Unfortunally we couldn’t do any hikes because of the wet weather. But is a place to come back, for sure!

This is a subject that can take ages for one to become really good at. So, this topic is not a “how-to design your own logo” but a summary with some advice of what you should look for when in the process of creating your own brand .
Logo design is one of the most important area of graphic design, and one of the most difficult to perfect.
Your logo should speak for your company. For instance, if your business have products with simple and modern shapes, it would be odd to have a logo with too many embellishments or a intricate gothic type face.
If you carry a wider range of products (or plan to do so ahead) that goes from cute products to retro ones, then you should choose wisely your type-face, colours, etc, to make sure you can keep a consistence that flows and works on everything.
What does a successful identity design do:
Your company will look far more seriously than that other one that have a poorly made logo, thus you will gain trust showing that you are committed to both your business and to your clients, and wont be taken as a “small time vendor”.
Plus, it will bring unity to your products and by having consistence on your brand, it will be easier to it will be easier to your customers to remember you. Forty percent of people better remember what they see better than what they hear or read.
My days have been filled with studies around watercolor techniques. I’m preparing myself for my Illustration Final Major Project right now, which can be very time consuming, unfortunally…although the good point is that pushes me ahead to get better at things that I have barely look over these years yeah…shame on me -_-’
Anyway, I wanted to pass a subtle mood of dark fairy tale.
I got pretty pleased how it turns out to be. Lot of time spent on inking, indeed, but it is worthed.
