Sukie

above:Sukie, a small independent design company that makes stationary and textiles.

This is a subject that can take ages for one to become really good at. So, this topic is not a “how-to design your own logo” but a summary with some advice of what you should look for when in the process of creating your own brand .

Logo design is one of the most important area of graphic design, and one of the most difficult to perfect.

Your logo should speak for your company. For instance, if your business have products with simple and modern shapes, it would be odd to have a logo with too many embellishments or a intricate gothic type face.
If you carry a wider range of products (or plan to do so ahead) that goes from cute products to retro ones, then you should choose wisely your type-face, colours, etc, to make sure you can keep a consistence that flows and works on everything.

What does a successful identity design do:

Your company will look far more seriously than that other one that have a poorly made logo, thus you will gain trust showing that you are committed to both your business and to your clients, and wont be taken as a “small time vendor”.

Plus, it will bring unity to your products and by having consistence on your brand, it will be easier to it will be easier to your customers to remember you. Forty percent of people better remember what they see better than what they hear or read.
